We believe that the every child deserves a consistent community that sees and supports them in their pursuit towards personal fulfillment.

From 2021-2024, our programs provide hands-on learning grounded in intentional community.

While most programs design for an “average” population and practice inclusion (which by nature assumes excluded populations), Seen52 centers the experiences and most-felt needs of youth who experience foster care or homelessness.

What we discovered was that although there is always a high demand for high quality, hands-on programs that center social and academic growth, providing direct services to older youth alone did not improve their stability and placements in Alameda County.

Current Status: Hiatus

At Seen52, our current efforts center on continuing to support the students who have previously been part of our community. We're actively leveraging our existing partnerships to meet their physical needs, offer guidance, and provide resource navigation.

In parallel, we're taking a thoughtful approach to identifying how best to support and equip the adult caregivers in their lives. Becoming a foster family is already a highly specialized commitment—and supporting older youth within that context is even more nuanced and often isolating.

In this period, we are working to reimagine support structures. Pleas be patient as we intentionally explore creative, responsive ways to stand beside young people who are navigating some of the most challenging circumstances life can present.
